"I have seen landscapes...which, under a particular light,

made me feel that at any moment a giant might raise his head over the next

ridge. Nature has that in her which compels us to invent giants: and

only giants will do."

--- C.S. Lewis

All pictorial art is the transformation
of dead material into something spiritual.

I was looking at Charles Vess's web site and these were two quotes they had, I think both of them are really very insightful and i love both of them.
Actual I have chosen to do the Charles Vess painting I put up earlier.

Magic Words

In the earliest time,

when both people and animals lived on the earth,

a person could become an animal if he wanted to

and an animal could become a human being.

Sometimes they were people

and sometimes animals

and there was no difference.

All spoke the same language.

That was the time when words were like magic.

The human mind had mysterious powers.

A word spoken by chance

might have strange consequences.

It would suddenly come alive

and what people wanted to happen could happen--

all you had to do was to say it.

Nobody can explain this:

That's the way it was.

Ahh, so many ideas.

And i might do something more like this........ Amy Brown makes prints for a living she paints a world no one else can see (faeries just sounds prettier) she is an amazing artist, and paints a lot.

Or i could do something more like this..........

modern fantasy artist Charles Vess, cartoonist and painter extraordinaire. He is an amazing artist and paints fantasy seance's.

maybe, posibly

so I have another idea, I know alot about ancinet celtic pagen religions. Actualy, i know way to much about them (I made powerpoints about holidays for fun) and i might do idonic art related to that religion.

for instince the greenman above. OR, i could do a figuren of one of the gods, or a picture, or modern recreations of the gods!

Getting started/ideas

I cant really choose what i want to do. I have two very cool ideas (to me.)

a) i could do a 12th century surrealist
or
b) look at similar cultures and compare how their art is similar

i can't decide and its making me confused
